Pretty Little Liars Post 4

Last nights episode of PLL was the mid-season finale. Meaning when the producer's pitched the show they only has the first 10 episodes filmed in hopes that if the show did well it would get picked up for a full season...and it did. PLL has officially been picked up for a full season of 22 episodes starting sometime in early 2011.
Enough of that-lets get into last nights episode. For the most part it was good-a lot of questions were answered-most importantly who 'A' really is-more on that later.
The audience was officially introduced to Ian (Ryan Merriman), and we knew from earlier episodes that something went on between him and Spencer. In all honesty i do not love the fact that they made Spencer have an affair with both of her sisters boyfriends, even if she only knows about one, its a crappy story line.
Emily's father has returned from War-but more important than that-is that A sent Emily's mother the pictures of her and Maya-so this should be interesting when it all comes ahead. As well as the return of Toby. Although his return becomes less interesting when you realize the reason he came back. Just to tell Emily that Jenna was in love with him and Allison helped him out. Way to burry the lead in that one-it obvious that he loves Emily-but its just to creepy. And then he tells her that he is going to wait for her behind the church at 12am for his ride and that if she tells her friends they are going to call the cops. So naturally Emily tells all the girls and their first instinct is to call the cops-which someone does we just do no know who. I think it is important here to note that Emily does not believe in any of the rumors involving Toby-so if the audience can stick with her in her beliefs then i think in the long run it will pay off.
One of my fave storylines this episode-and really the only big one-is the one between Aria and Ezra. They are kind of fantastic together-they both play angst so well and it is def a relationship that keeps the audience watching.
The biggest reveal about this episode is that 'A' is actually Ian-Melissa's ex boyfriend. I have some issues with this-but one of them kind of does not exist. As i stated earlier-the first 10 episodes were shot before the show got picked up for the full season-meaning that in the last ep the producers were going to do something shocking to get viewers to come back to the show-so with this i feel that Ian is not really going to be 'A'. I feel that now that they have 22 epsiodes that they might change who 'A' is.
My other issue is-who the hell is Ian? I mean all we know is what happened between him and Spencer, and how he dumped Melissa for Allison-but how did know one not know he was back in town and why show himself now? SO many questions!
Lastly comes Hanna. Being rocked by a speeding car is not fun-and my guess when she wakes up from her sure to be coma state-she will not remember anything about that night-more importantly that she knows that Ian is 'A'.
Over all the ep was really good-not as good as the earlier ones. 3/5. I am def hooked for the remainder of the season easy.

What are your thoughts on the mid-season finale? Are you convinced that Ian is 'A'?? Leave it below

Side note-A congradulations to the Cast for picking up a Teen Choice Award on Monday for the show! definately deserved!

Pretty Little Liars Post 3

This weeks episode of Pretty Little Liars, "The Perfect Storm" had all four girls locked inside their high school during a bad storm. The weather wasn't the only 'storm' that the girls had to face. Spencer had to deal with telling her mother that she is seeing the help at their tennis club-as well as dealing with a secret that Alex is refusing to tell her(side note the 'secret' he refuses to tell her in my opinion is total crap-my theory Alex walked in on Spencer's mother playing tonsil hockey with another man, that's not her father). Hannah is juggling being friends with bitchy Mona and new friend Lucas-who Mona can't stand. Aria is dealing with her feelings for Ezra as well as possible new love Noel. All the while trying to deal with her parents separation. The biggest 'storm' this episode fell on the shoulder's of Emily-whose introduction into the episode had her running into her room while wet and covered in mud-this after last weeks final scene of the memorial being destroyed.

It is fair to say that this episode was all about Emily's secret. Wether is was her sexuality or why she was covered in mud. The flashbacks once again show the audience the relationship that each girl had with Ally. Emily's relationship with Ally was very much the beginning of her discovering that she is actually gay. As well we see a letter that Emily wrote to Ally-although the quick glimpse doesn't give you much to go on. It is not until the end of the episode when Emily is confronted by Det. Wilden that she admits, mostly to herself, and her friends that she loved Ally in more than a friend kind of way. This revelation was nice to hear and see that she can finally let go some of the guilt that she had been holding in. However from the very first episode i new that Emily had feelings for Ally-so the reveal wasn't that surprising-it was just nice to see her say it out loud.

My issue with the episode lies in the muddy shoes. I mean really you change all of you clothes and forget or not notices that your shoes are covered in mud? I found this really hard to look past-even more so when we see that Lucas also had mud on his shoes. This however is more interesting, because why would he have been out there? or Why would have he destroyed the memorial? Does he also have a past with Allison that know one knows about? Or was this some ploy to get Hannah to be with him? All these questions and no answers. But this does make me more interested in Lucas and his relationship with Hannah.

What else i did not like about the episode-the very obvious sexually charged friendship between Aria's father and Hannah's mother. I do not love where this is going at all. There is no need for this extra drama. My fear is that if they do go there and Aria's mother finds out the first person she is going to run to is Ezra-and that's not good because things can only get worse from here.

With the last glimpse of Ally and the hands of 'A', my guess is that 'A' is definately a woman-the hands and arms were small and delicate. But because of Lucas's muddy shoes i now have my doubts-but i am still convince 'A' is a girl.

Overall the episode was great-again 3.5/5 easy. What did you guys think? Anyone closer to knowing who A is? Let me know
